African Pensioners Deserve Dignity After Service

• How Can Africa Talk About Pension When It Has Not Properly Talked About Development?

Across Africa, pensioners are suffering after years of service.

But the deeper question is this:

How can a nation protect pensioners when its development system is weak?

Pension is not only a retirement issue, It is a development issue.

A strong pension system depends on:_

• productive economies

• disciplined government spending

• reliable public records

• strong institutions

• job creation

• accountable leadership

• transparent revenue management

• long-term national planning

When development is weak, pensions become delayed and When records are weak, retirees suffer.

When public funds are mismanaged, workers pay the price.

When industries are not growing, pension funds become unstable.

When government planning is poor, elderly citizens are abandoned after service.

*Africa/Nigeria* must stop treating pension as an isolated problem.

The pension crisis is a warning
